We’re delighted to welcome Coleg Cambria as a supporter of Protect Young Drivers.

Based in Wales, Coleg Cambria is one of the largest colleges in the UK, with approximately 6,000 full-time and 20,000 part-time learners. Their involvement highlights the important role education settings can play in helping to keep young people safe as they prepare to drive or begin driving independently.

The college recently contacted Protect Young Drivers about a new initiative in the Wrexham area, which will include a dedicated road safety day for learners and a year-long programme focused on prevention. The initiative aims to provide students with practical information and consistent safety messaging at a critical stage in their driving journey.

Rebecca Morris, Director of Engagement at Protect Young Drivers, said:

“It's really encouraging to see education settings like Coleg Cambria recognising the role they can play in protecting young drivers. "If we are serious about reducing deaths and serious injuries, we need to work beyond the traditional road safety community and collaborate with organisations that can reach young people directly. Sharing consistent messages and providing proactive information at the right time can make a real difference.”

The partnership demonstrates the value of working collaboratively to reach young people before and during their most vulnerable time on the road. By bringing together education, road safety professionals and local initiatives, Protect Young Drivers aims to support consistent, evidence-informed messaging that helps prevent crashes and reduce harm.
